America defeated DIM 3-0 in the Reds’ duel in the United States | Other Soccer Leagues

Deportivo Independiente Medellín fell 3-0 against América de Cali in a friendly game played in New Jersey. The scarlet team prevailed over the powerful one with goals from Jorge Segura, Joao Rodríguez and an own goal from Juan José Parra, who failed to finish the entire match due to injury.

The first half started with minutes of study, distribution of possession of the ball and approaches by América de Cali through the still ball. Medellín was looking for wing play and trying to get out with the ball, but could not find spaces to attack with solvency.

At minute 17, the scarlets went ahead through Jorge Segura, who took advantage of a short rejection by Juan José Parra, who failed to neutralize a free kick charge made by Daniel Hernández. While in the heart of the area the defender owned by Watford was well located, who defined comfortably to go ahead in favor of the Valle del Cauca. On the 22nd minute, Daniel Hernández had extended the score for América, but the refereeing body decided to cancel the play out of place.

The torrential rain that fell on the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, hindered the intensity in the DIM game, added to the lack of experience of many powerful players with respect to the squad that America had for this match. The first half ended without news and with the partial advantage on the scoreboard for América de Cali.

In the second half, the rain subsided and America took the initiative, dominating the ball and disturbing the powerful goal with offensive actions on the wings and centers from the sides, looking for their forwards.

At minute 16, America stretched the lead through an own goal by Juan José Parra, who returned to DIM after a six-month spell at Texas North, a deployment on the left wing of the Valle del Cauca team through Luis Paz, who he sent a pass to the small area, but Parra trying to reject, put the ball in his own goal. On the 23rd minute, Juan José Parra had to retire due to a strong blow suffered while trying to defend an attack from America.

The last minutes were to show the colors of the fans and for both coaches to make changes, the result was the least in a match somewhat crossed in the teams’ calendar. Four minutes from the end of the game, Joao Rodríguez scored the third and final goal for the Red Devils.

After this friendly game, both Medellín and América will return to Colombia, the powerful to continue preparing their match next Wednesday for the return of Phase III in the Colombia Cup against Once Caldas and the red devils to play the match for the fourth date of the Colombian League also against the ‘white white’ of Manizales.
