A youtuber has created an infallible bow: he takes aim by himself and does not miss a shot

The youtuber Shane Wighton created a foolproof bow: takes the aim automatically and does not miss a beat, not even the most complicated ones. The experiment was uploaded to the Stuff Made Here channel, which over time had already been appreciated for very similar experiments.

The bow works thanks to two different robotic parts. On the one hand, the first mechanism correctly positions the bow – which is anchored to a kind of glove – in order to control the direction of shooting – right, left, up, down -, on the other a second mechanism manages the shot, dosing power and timing. In short, it completely eliminates the requirement of having good aim or good technique. He does it all by himself.

The arc also works thanks to some sensors: cameras OptiTrack flanked by tracking sensors mounted directly on the bow.

As is often the case during Wighton’s experiments, the final product required several attempts, as well as at least a couple of prototypes. The first results were anything but encouraging, also because the youtuber had chosen the wrong type of bow for the project. Fortunately, after a trail of failures, Wighton was able to achieve the results he aspired to.

Archery is only the latest of the sports faced by the robotics enthusiast, who in the past had already created a device to never miss a shot, as well as a baseball bat – complete with mini-explosives – to guarantee a homerun.
