A minute of silence with the former companions to remember Marina

CASTELFRANCO

A minute of silence to remember Marina Albio, the 68-year-old who died in July twenty days after the terrible accident that saw her hit by a car as she crossed Viale Italia a few meters from her home. The softball girls of Thunders Dragons who played yesterday in the groups towards the Serie A playoffs with Poderi Nespoli of Forlì dedicated it to him. Yes, because Marina Albio was the first thrower of the team when it was born in 1971: a lightning start because the team finished second in Serie B, only to win promotion the following year.

To remember Marina four of her teammates at the time, namely Grazia Antonello, Gabriella Baggio, Patrizia Breviglieri and Carla Baldan. «Many of us have approached softball, at the time an absolute novelty in Castelfranco, because we were already friends, as happened with Marina – explains Patrizia Breviglieri – For some also a question of love towards the males of baseball. Just think that we used their very heavy equipment in the field near the building. Marina was one of these indomitable “initiators” and it must be recognized that she really knew how to do it ».

Over time the relationships between them have become a bit frayed, some have been lost from sight: but a hard core has remained. And among these there was also Marina: “We have always continued to see each other with her, her loss was a great pain”. –
