26 Venezuelans will say present at the Tokyo Paralympics

Venezuela signed in Tokyo its best Olympic performance in history. Now, from August 24 to September 5, it will try to replicate that success at the Paralympic Games.

26 athletes will represent the country in six different sports. Abraham Ortega (bullet impulse) and Lisbeli Vera (100m, 200m, 400m) will be the standard bearers for this ninth Creole expedition.

Athletics, which has already contributed the maximum number of medals to the national Paralympic history, is the specialty with the most classified, 16. with 13 of the 17 medals in the country in eight editions (1984-2016)

In the speed and middle ground are:

  • Paola Pérez, with the guide Daniel Manzanilla (100m, 200m, 400m T12)
  • Linda Pérez, with the guide Álvaro Casiani – (100m, 200m, 400m T11)
  • Enderson Santos, with the guide Eubrig Maza (100m and 400m T11)

In Rio 2016, Venezuela’s eighth participation in the Paralympics, the country achieved a harvest of six medals.

Three silver with Sol Rojas (400m T11), Luis Paiva (400m T20) and Omar Monterola (400m T37 three bronzes in the hands of Yescarly Medina (100m T37), Rafael Uribe (high jump T44) and Naomi Soazo (judo -70kg)
