2020 Olympic Medal Standings: Top China, 54th Indonesia

Indonesia’s position in the 2020 Olympic medal standings is declining. The Red and White contingent is out of the top 50, to be exact at 54th.

China still leads the Tokyo 2020 Olympic medal standings until Saturday (7/8/2021) evening WIB. The Bamboo Curtain country has so far collected 38 gold, 31 silver and 18 bronze.

The United States trailed in second with 36 gold, 39 silver and 33 bronze. Uncle Sam’s country has collected a total of 108 medals.

Hosts Japan are third with 27 gold, 12 silver and 17 bronze. Sakura country won gold in their favorite branch, baseball, by beating the United States 2-0 in the final.

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) followed in fourth place with 20 gold, 26 silver and 23 bronze. The fifth position is currently occupied by Great Britain with 20 gold, 21 silver and 22 bronze.

The sixth to eleventh positions were filled with Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France and New Zealand respectively. The winner of men’s football, Brazil, is in 12th place with 7 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze.

Indonesia, which no longer has a representative at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has dropped to 54th position out of 85 countries that have won medals. The Red and White contingent collected 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze.

Indonesia’s position is overtaken by another Southeast Asian country, the Philippines, which ranks 49th with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. The ASEAN Rice Barn added 1 silver from the men’s flyweight boxing branch.
