Hamburg (SID) – Tennis professional Gabriela Ruse was the first player to reach the final at the WTA tournament at Rothenbaum in Hamburg. The 23-year-old qualifier defeated Ukrainian Dajana Jastremska 2: 6, 6: 1 and 6: 4 in a hard-fought semi-final on Saturday. The match lasted just under two hours. For the Romanian it could be the first victory on the WTA stage.
In the final on Sunday, Ruse will face the winner of the second semi-final between Jule Niemeier (Dortmund) and Andrea Petkovic (Darmstadt). The German duel begins at 2.30 p.m.
