Carla Suárez Navarro burst into tears at the press conference after her first round defeat at Wimbledon. The Spaniard was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2020 and then fought for her life. After successful therapy, she returned to the tennis court at the end of April and challenged world number one Ashleigh Barty (Australia) over three sets at Wimbledon.
