It starts: The Championships in the London borough of Wimbledon will also take place in 2021. As the penultimate Grand Slam tournament of the year after the French Open and before the US Open, Wimbledon welcomes the world’s best tennis professionals from June 28 to July 11, 2021. At the start of the tournament, the organizers grant a 50 percent attendance capacity, on some smaller courts up to 75 percent. From the last sixteen and quarter finals onwards, the number of visitors increases continuously, and 100 percent capacity can be expected for the final.
The international tennis greats in women’s and men’s tennis will again play for high prize money and points for the world rankings at the prestigious Wimbledon Championships 2021. Multiple Grand Slam title holders such as Novak Dokovic and Serena Williams as well as newcomer talent Jannik Sinner and many more can be seen live. Wimbledon is the third Grand Slam tournament of the year and the only one that is played on grass. For the 134th time, the best tennis players in the world will meet at the Wimbledon Championships in Wimbledon Park in London.

Wimbledon 2021: Corona conditions & tickets
In 2020 the Wimbledon tournament had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic – for the first time in peacetime in the 144-year tradition of the tournament. This had only come to this before during World War 1 and 2.
The legendary Wimbledon Stadium Center Court and the surrounding courts are due to fall in 2021 due to the falling Corona numbers 100 percent open to up to 15,000 spectators until the final become. The organizers will start on June 28th with a 50 percent occupancy rate, and on some smaller squares with a 75 percent attendance rate. In the course of the last sixteen and quarter-finals, the numbers increase, the semi-finals and finals are finally played in front of fully occupied stands.
The organizers AELTC, together with the British government, want to decide on the specific hygiene measures and final regulations at the latest possible time in order to be able to react flexibly to the pandemic developments.
The organizers have already decided that there will be no box office (queue), no ticket resale and no draw (public ballot) for ticket purchases in 2021. Tickets for Wimbledon 2021 can be purchased from June 2021 via an online platform. Anyone who was awarded the contract for Wimbledon 2020 by drawing lots and bought tickets can make use of this purchase right next year and order tickets for Wimbledon 2022 as soon as advance sales begin.
