The US men’s basketball team, which has brought together National Basketball Association (NBA) club players under the leadership of head coach Greg Popovich, launched a series of test games with two losses in a row before the Tokyo Olympics, Yahoo Sports reported.
The Americans conceded to Nigeria on Saturday at 87:90, losing an African team to the NBA for the first time in history. On Monday, the US national team in Las Vegas with 83:91 acknowledged the superiority of the Australian national team.
The U.S. national team has only lost twice in two games in a row since the 1992 Olympics, in the 2002 and 2019 World Cups.
There are five test matches for the US national team before the Olympic tournament, but the team is not yet full, as Chris Middleton, Jayreu Holide and Devin Bucker continue to play in the NBA Finals. U.S. national basketball player Damien Lillard told the media after his second loss that opponents are experienced and well-played, while the Americans are still working to become a team.
The next test match for the US national team is scheduled for Tuesday in Las Vegas against Argentina.
