United States, Indonesia and France win the last Olympic passes for the men’s team event – OA Sport

The first day of competition of the World-wide pre-Olympic archery went to the archive in Paris with the assignment of the last 3 passes available for the men’s team trial of the Tokyo 2021 Games. Unfortunately Italy did not hit the goal of the eve, leaving the scene in the quarter-finals against Indonesia and failing to qualify for the Olympics with the trio.

Mauro Nespoli, Alessandro Paoli and Federico Musolesi, excellent third in the ranking round, they had made their debut in the knockout draw with a convincing 6-0 win over Croatia in the round of 16 before hitting a counter-performance that opened the doors for the Indonesians to the Olympic Games.

Riau Salsabilla, Arif Pangestu and Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi, after adjusting the Azzurri 5-1, also won the semifinal 6-0 against Ukraine (thanks to an off-target arrow in the third volley by the Ukrainians), breaking the five circles.

Exciting course and qualification in your pocket also for the United States by Brady Ellison, Jack Williams and Jakob Wukie, authors of the absolute best score in the ranking round and then able to reach the final (and consequently the Olympic card) by beating Slovenia, Spain and France in order.

The transalpine hosts (Thomas Chirault, Pierre Plihon and Jean-Charles Valladont), clearly beaten in the semifinals by the Americans, then quickly redeemed themselves in the play-off for the last place available for the Olympics. France secured the pass for Tokyo by regulating Ukraine with a score of 6-0.

Excluding teams of absolute value such as Germany (out in the round of 16 with Ukraine), Mexico, Spain, Malaysia, Canada, Turkey and Russia, as well as Italy, Olympic gold medal in London 2012.
