Trea Turner hits the third straight of her career

To celebrate his 28th birthday, shortstop Trea Turner hit the straight (single, double, triple and home run) for the third time in his career.

Turner led the Nats’ offense on Wednesday against the Rays.

Turner became only the fourth player to accomplish this feat at least three times. In the Modern Era, only the Dominican Adrián Beltré, Babe Herman and Bob Meusel had done it.

The shortstop completed the ladder in the sixth inning of the game by hitting a triple off Michael Wacha.

Before that, he had a single in the first inning, a double in the third and a home run in the fourth.

The first two ladders in Turner’s career occurred on April 25, 2017 and July 23, 2019, both against the Colorado Rockies.
