Tokyo’s four flag bearers unveiled

The judokate Clarisse Agbegnenou and the gymnast Samir Aït Said were designated by the CNOSF flag bearers of the French delegation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The announcement was made on Monday during the France 2 news. The mixed duo succeed Teddy Riner, chosen in 2016 for the Rio Olympics. Five-time world champion, Agbegnenou was in competition with Mélina Robert-Michon, Charline Picon and Sandrine Gruda, but it was ultimately the judoka who received the favors of the 59 athletes nominated by the Olympic federations. Seriously injured in Rio, the appointment of Aït Said is obviously a great reward for the gymnast who fought to return to the top level. Among the Paralympics, Sandrine Martinez (Judo) and Stéphane Houdet (Tennis) were chosen by the public to be the guides of the French delegation.
