Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles, who missed the overall contest final, will be out again for Sunday’s jump and uneven bars finals, the American Gymnastics Federation announced on its Twitter account on Saturday.

The federation specifies that the state of the gymnast will be evaluated daily to see if she can participate in the floor finals (Tuesday) and the balance beam (Wednesday).

“After consultations with the medical team, Simone Biles has decided to withdraw from the jump and uneven bars finals,” the statement said. “He will continue to assess the situation daily to determine if he competes in the floor and balance beam finals,” adds the text.

Biles, 24, reported that he was struggling with the ‘twisties’, the mental block that is affecting him in Tokyo 2020 and has already left him out of three finals, after interrupting his participation in the first, in the general team competition .

The American, who won five medals in Rio, four of them gold, first explained after her first resignation from the final of the individual general contest, that she needed to protect her mental health and that she had less confidence than before, and then talked about ‘twisties ‘, which cause her to lose balance in the air and can put her in danger.

Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), visited the gymnast in Tokyo on Friday, calling her “brave” for speaking openly about her psychological problems.
