Tokyo 2020: all the sports of the Olympics. Here are the new disciplines – Olympics

In the more than two weeks of competition, from Friday 23 July to Sunday 8 August, the 200 countries involved in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be involved in 33 different sports and 50 disciplines for a total of 339 gold medals to be awarded. Compared to the previous Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, here are some new entries: sport climbing, karate, skateboarding and surfing, while baseball and softball will make a comeback.

Athletics: from 30 July to 8 August at the Olympic Stadium

Badminton: from July 24 to August 2 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza

Baseball: from July 28 to August 7 at Yokohama Stadium / Fukushima Azuma Stadium

Beach volley: from 24 July to 7 August at Shiokaze Park

The news

Making their debut in Olympic sports in Japan will be thesport climbing, the karate, it skateboarding and the surf. Sport climbing will be staged from 3 to 6 August at Aomi Urban Sports Park, karate from 4 to 6 August at Nippon Budokan, skateboarding from 25 July to 5 August at Ariake Urban Sports Park and surfing at Enoshima Yacht Harbor from 25th to 28th July. And for Paris 2024 another discipline will make the big leap: in three years, in France, the Break Dance it will become an Olympic sport.
