In the more than two weeks of competition, from Friday 23 July to Sunday 8 August, the 200 countries involved in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be involved in 33 different sports and 50 disciplines for a total of 339 gold medals to be awarded. Compared to the previous Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, here are some new entries: sport climbing, karate, skateboarding and surfing, while baseball and softball will make a comeback.

The news
Making their debut in Olympic sports in Japan will be thesport climbing, the karate, it skateboarding and the surf. And for Paris 2024 another discipline will make the big leap: in three years, in France, the Break Dance it will become an Olympic sport.
