The 2010 generation, selected after several training days, played an official match against Ávila’s male and female squads, a day that offered very good conclusions and results.

The Segovia men’s team, despite playing fourteen players, imposed a high pace of play, quickly in attack, moving the ball with enthusiasm and good team play as well as very serious in defense, their intensity led them to victory in a game that adds enthusiasm, motivation and an excellent work group.

The women’s team that added up to fifteen players faced a combination of players from the 2010 and 2009 Regional Detection Program. The experience of the oldest of the Avila team was noted, who set the visiting offensive rhythm but the locals showed quality, rhythm, culture of effort, teamwork and they developed a game that went from less to more to finish a game that, although it was not resolved with victory, did draw good conclusions and lays the foundations of an excellent group that will add enthusiasm and talent to women’s basketball, composed of boys and girls from all the clubs and schools in Segovia (Aneja, Diego de Colmenares, La Lastrilla, Independiente, Cuellar, Claret and Saltamontes).

The components of the Women’s Selection were María Vázquez, Lucía Muñoz, María Granda, Elena Antolín, Edurne Tabanera, Valeria de Pablo, Danae Tabuenca, Cayetana Gómez, Marta Gil, Irene Manzanas, Irene Mirón, Sofía Herranz, Cayetana Rincón, Martina López and Vera Yagüe.

The components of the men’s team were Pablo San Isidro, Mateo de Frutos, Alejandro Alvarado, Mario Higuera, Nicolás Hernando, Bruno Pacheco, Luis Jerónimo, David Velasco, Pablo García, Alejandro Viejo, Omar Bermejo, Pablo Plaza, Diego Bermejo and Rodrigo Martín .

The boys and girls returned to compete the following weekend to close a season in which one more ‘impossible’ has been possible thanks to the collaboration of technicians, players, clubs and schools, families, referees and the federation, a job as a team that proposes initiatives that inspire and whose objective is to propose opportunities for technical improvement but above all to grow in values ​​and share the passion for basketball.
