the qualified of Italy. Pass down compared to Rio 2016 – OA Sport

Less than three weeks from the first competition of the Tokyo Olympic Games 2021, the time has come to take stock of the situation in Italy at the end of the five-circle qualifying course archery. After three consecutive editions full (with 6 total athletes, 3 per sex), unfortunately the Bel Paese will not be able to take advantage of the maximum quota in Japan.

Below is the list of Italian archers who snatched the pass for the Japanese Olympics: Mauro Nespoli, Tatiana Andreoli, Chiara Rebagliati and Lucilla Boari. The tricolor archery team will therefore be present in all competitions with the exception of the men’s team event, and will also be able to field only one representative (compared to a maximum of 3) at the start of the men’s individual competition.

Nespoli, despite the double failure with the trio between the World 2019 and the Pre-Olympic 2021, he won the individual pass for Tokyo thanks to the excellent fourth place in the last world championship and in general to an extremely positive four-year period from a personal point of view.

The 33-year-old native of Voghera, number 5 in the world ranking, he is hunting for the first individual Olympic medal and will have to drag the blue Mixed Team towards a possible five-circle podium after the third place in this format at the last World Championships in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

The women’s sector of the Italian arch has been promoted with full marks, who achieved the goal of qualifying in Tokyo with the trio at the end of a beautiful growth path by a young and talented group, which still lacks a world-class star but which can count on an extremely solid and compact.
