Initially scheduled for this Saturday, July 10 in Lubumbashi, the Katanga provincial basketball championship was postponed later. This was announced by the president of the league, Stéphane Mpanya this Saturday, July 10 on radio Mwangaza in Lubumbashi.
According to him, the reasons being validly logical, this is what pushed the Katanga basketball league to postpone him.
“FEBACO will probably organize the Congo Cup in September, but if we organize the provincial championship in July, the children will not have the competition in the leg during the Congo Cup, it is too risky”, Stéphane Mpanya clarified.
The president of the league protests against the very low level of competitiveness, among Lushois athletes compared to others in certain cities of Katanga.
“For the men, the level is impeccable, but for the women, the level is still to be desired,” he said.
The league plans, in the event of the publication of the date of the Congo Cup, to organize an extension of the provincial national championship to recover the games lost in the championship of the Urban Basketball Entente in Lubumbashi this season.
The number of participants in this final phase remains hypothetical, since the calendar will be established according to the date of the Congo Cup.
