She didn’t panic, she returned to the set and decided to break the ninth game. She finished the match with pure play. Martincová was more active throughout the duel. “I felt after that last match that I had to go more on this surface. I had to go to the net, even though I don’t feel very comfortable there,” she explained.

The Czechia will have at least double representation in the quarterfinals, because Kateřina Siniaková and Tereza Smitková will compete for promotion among the top eight at the end of today’s program. The winner is also the winner Roland Garros and the second two Barbora Krejčíková.

Kristýna Plíšková finished in the 1st round

Jiří Veselý will not play the second quarterfinal of the season at the tournament in Bastad. He lost 4: 6 and 3: 6 to Yannick Hanfmann from Germany in the second round on Swedish clay.
