The benefits of retirement

Newly retired (January 2021) from Papiers White Birch in Quebec, Gaétan Voyer (photo), from the Sainte-Foy borough in Quebec, has more time to indulge in his favorite sport, golf. A recent member of the Lac Saint-Joseph golf club, he had his first career hole-in-one, on July 13, using his 7 wood, at hole 14, a par 3 of 157 yards. of his club. He was accompanied, during his feat, by Jocelyn Têtu and Jean-Claude Fortin. We must therefore face the facts that his retirement, at the age of 59, will allow him to reach new heights in the aisles of the Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier club. Bravo Gaétan!

Strong increase

My greetings to Carl Bouchard (photo) general manager of the Chicoutimi golf club, in Saguenay. In office since May 2018, this former school principal (Polyvalente Dominique-Racine) has enjoyed his duties enormously since his retirement in the spring of 2018. Like many other golf clubs in Quebec, the one in Chicoutimi has experienced, during the pandemic, strong increases in ridership and subscriptions of the order of 25 to 30%. The land is in magnificent condition. If you go through the Saguenay, this is a must.

Pleasant partners

Let me also introduce you to my playing partners during a recent round of golf at the Chicoutimi golf club in Saguenay. From left to right, the people of Saguenay will recognize Jean-Yves Provencher, former general manager for the Caisses populaires Desjardins and former municipal councilor, Carol Gauthier, retired from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (UQAC), and the only Serge « Buddy » Cloutier, handyman (radio, travel and singer). Thank you, gentlemen, for your pleasant company. Revenge was granted to Jean-Yves and Carol.
