This Friday the act of raising the Blue Flag took place at Playa del Sotillo-Castell de Ferro, with which the beach season is inaugurated in the municipality of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro.
The Tourism delegate, Gustavo Rodríguez and the Tourism deputy José Enrique Medina were present, who accompanied the mayor Toñi Antequera and several members of the Gualchos-Castell de Ferro corporation and to whom the first mayor thanked them. who have been present.
The lifeguard posts on the beaches, located on the Sotillo-Castell beach and in Cambriles, have already been opened from July 1 to August 31. As news compared to last year, it should be noted that this summer it will be possible to use the showers and toilets.
It should be remembered that in addition to the Blue Flag for Playa del Sotillo-Castell de Ferro, the Q for Quality has been renewed for this same beach and that of Cambriles, and the ISO 14001 Flag for environmental management for La Rijana. The achievement of these recognitions has been possible due to the great work carried out by the commission in charge of beach management, both at the technical level and at the coordination level.
«We already know a little more how to handle this situation, how to protect ourselves and how to protect others and showers and toilets are enabled on the beaches, yes, with cleaning reinforcement and also asking neighbors to continue to be very careful with all the measures to continue maintaining a certain normality, ”said Mayor Toñi Antequera.
The work of the government team for the summer has not only focused on improving the beach areas, with cleanliness, adaptation and security, but an important part has been devoted to planning activities that are safe and that can offer residents and visitors leisure alternatives within the sanitary measures that must continue to be taken into account. Thus, cultural activities are combined with sports activities, which begin today in the Plaza de la Constitución de Gualchos with the theatrical performance ‘Histories of women in history’, at 9 pm.
Programming
Sunday will be the day for the sport of hiking with an outing to Río Cebollón, organized by the Correcaminos Association. Sport also for Monday 5th with the local badminton tournament, from 10:00 to 13:30 in the IES Sayena pavilion.
This year the summer cinema is resumed, it will return from the hand of the film ‘Jumanji, the next level’, on Wednesday the 7th at 10 pm in Playa del Sotillo.
On Thursday it will be time to move the bodies to the sound of Latin dances with the salsa and bachata workshop taught by the Global Dance dance academy. It will be at 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de España in Castell de Ferro.
On Friday 9th at 10:00 pm there will be a show by the contemporary clown Lolo Fernández with the work ‘Piano Piano’, which will be accompanied by the pianist Morten Jespersen in the Parque de la Era de Gualchos.
Already on Saturday 10, in the morning, at 11:00 in the Plaza de la Constitución de Gualchos and at 19:00 in the Plaza Manuel Noguera (City Hall) of Castell de Ferro, you can enjoy the Diorama Workshop and storytelling by Arturo Abad.
