The 19th constituency of the City Council includes: Auburndale, Bay Terrace, Bayside, College Point, Douglaston, Little Neck, White Rock, etc.

In order to build a new playground in Wantai, Walloon secured a 20 million yuan capital fund from the mayor (Capital Funding). This land is adjacent to the Cross Island Parkway, WatersEdge Drive and 24th Ave., and has been owned by the New York City Parks Bureau since 1943. The new playground plan includes: children’s play area, walking path, adult fitness equipment area, basketball court, parking lot, etc.

Walloon also allocated $700,000 to upgrade the playground of the 379th public junior high school (123-06 14th Ave.) at 124-06 14th Street in University Point, together with the grant from the Mayor of Queens.

In addition, every school in the constituency received at least 50,000 yuan in funding to fund important technical upgrades in the school.

Walloon said that he has allocated 160 million yuan to the constituency during his eight years as a city councilor, of which the school has received a total of 42 million yuan and the park has received 71 million yuan.

Projects that have received more funds include: College Point Fields will be converted into a football stadium, receiving 4.5 million yuan; Raymond O’Connor Park will receive 2.75 million yuan to renovate the football field; New York Women’s Center (Women of New York) ) Received 2.7 million yuan to refurbish the building in Fort Fotten; Auburndale Library received 500,000 yuan to build an outdoor reading garden; the public 209th elementary school received 440,000 yuan to upgrade the auditorium’s audio-visual equipment; and 150,000 yuan was invested in the installation of surveillance cameras to solve the problem of drag racing in the community and improve the quality of life.
