Arno Kamminga has again secured a silver medal, this time in the 200m breaststroke. The 25-year-old swimmer from Katwijk touched in the Tokyo Aquatics Center in a time of 2.07.01. The Australian Izaac Stubblety-Cook was in a class of its own in Japan and secured the gold: 2.06.38.
He also previously finished second in the 100 school, behind unapproachable Briton Adam Peaty.
“That hundred was exciting, that was the first time,” said Kamminga, who confidently went on the hunt for his second medal. But in a very strong field of participants. “You go in here with eight men. And eight men can win it. I’m glad I went home with silver.”
Kamminga will compete again in the Japanese metropolis, in the 4 x 100 medley mixed.
