Romina was the one who took care of traveling to Cardiff in January 2019, when it was learned that the plane carrying Emiliano (28 years old) lost all contact with the airports in the area near the English Channel. The footballer’s family is still waiting for answers and his lawyers claim to this day “to establish the complete truth” about the causes of the fall of the aircraft whose investigation is delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In a first investigation, it was found that neither the pilot nor the plane had the required license to operate commercial flights. Emiliano Sala’s family took legal action against Cardiff City and Nantes in March. In total, the family’s legal team listed 13 defendants, including soccer clubs, as well as Mark McKay, who worked on the signing of the footballer, his father Willie McKay, the company that rented the plane and those who they took care of its maintenance.

On April 26, three months after Emiliano’s death, Horacio Sala, father of the athlete and Romina, died. The woman who is fighting for her life has a 6-year-old son, Emiliano’s godson.
