Inter awaits Christian Eriksen. Victim of a heart attack on June 12 during a Euro match, the Dane is expected “with open arms” in Milan when he has rested, assured the new coach of the Italian champions, Simone Inzaghi, on Wednesday.
“For the moment he has to think about resting, but as an Inter coach I am waiting for him with open arms”, explained the successor of Antonio Conte during his presentation press conference. “I had spoken with him before the Euro, not since his accident. He is a player I was betting on”, he added, while stressing that Eriksen will need time from now on.

Will he be able to replay?
The 29-year-old Danish playmaker moved the football world at the start of the Euro when he suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a match during the Denmark-Finland meeting in Copenhagen. Reanimated on the lawn in front of his partners in tears, he was hospitalized several days before having a miniature defibrillator implanted to regulate his heart rate, which puts a big question mark on the rest of his career. In Italy, wearing this type of device is a priori a contraindication to practicing football professionally, even if everything will obviously depend on future assessments of the player’s state of health by his club.
