Sebastián Hernández talks about objectives in Independiente Medellín | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

Sebastián Hernández is writing his second chapter with Deportivo Independiente Medellín, where he hopes he can be crowned with a title, something that was elusive in 2012, when they were very close in the great final of Liga II against Millonarios. More mature, the Antioquia midfielder wants to fulfill that goal of being a champion with the powerful jersey.

“The requirement is to fight for the title, Medellín after many years is what is required of him and that is why he is armed. Happy to return to the team and work with Professor Hernán (Darío Gómez) again. Even though several years have passed, he is still the same, he is still that coach who works with the same passion every day and knows what he wants in each player to deliver the best in the games, ”Hernández said at a virtual press conference.

Regarding the injury suffered in the preseason, the player indicated that “physically I feel good, I had a blow in the friendly match against Águilas Doradas, I am doing well in the healing process and I have not missed any training with the group. I have found a very mature group, many have been working for several years, which have been joined by hungry players, we have had a good time working, there is anxiety to start competing and we have the peace of mind of being well prepared ” .

Returning to the commitment to the red team, Sebastián commented that “the responsibility is, it is difficult to isolate oneself from what happens in the team, from the start of the championship, but we have security and confidence with what we have worked, I trust and believe in the group, hopefully at the end of the year we can reap those fruits.

Turning to a personal level, FUTBOLRED asked him about that academic facet, where he recently managed to graduate as a Business Administrator, combining his professional sports and university career, being an example for his fellow soccer players. “More than a message is to set the example, colleagues have seen me in other clubs that one can equate the two things, both the study and the competition, it is the best way to transmit to them and we have many tools to study without neglecting the football. Little by little it has been evolving, the players that have emerged are more aware of that. It is very important not only for professional life, but to complement it with their sports careers in decision-making ”.

Returning to the sporting part, Hernández remarked that “everything is a set, in football the more things you do well, the more chances you have of winning. The club has made a great effort and when you add positive things to this project, the chances of success increase. Everything depends on us on the field, to capture what is being worked on to achieve the objectives ”.

Finally, he spoke about his role that he can play on the playing field. “The Sebastián from 10 years ago with Medellín played as a midfielder ’10’, in Bulgaria I had other functions such as double ‘5’ or as a mixed midfielder. It has helped me to add that intensity and that aggressiveness. I am willing to play where I can contribute to the team, it is essential to be physically well to be able to respond ”.
