Seattle resists reaction and beats Angels

Mitch Haniger had three hits, including a two-run homer, Chris Flexen maintained his dominance over the Angels and the Seattle Mariners held the guy on Friday to beat Los Angeles 6-5.

Angels second baseman David Fletcher had two hits that extended his hitting streak to 25 games, tying Rod Carew for the second-best march in franchise history.

Despite Flexen’s strong performance, who took the win with a seven-inning effort in which he gave up a run on six hits and struck out two, the Seattle bullpen came close to squandering it. The Mariners entered the ninth inning 6-2 but the Angels took advantage of two errors and scored three times to get within just one run.
