Santander judo achieved a good harvest of medals in the National Championship

The Santander Judo National Team ended its participation in the National Championship of the Cadets and Junior categories with great success.

The competition, which was held in Cali, had the participation of 11 ‘anthill’ athletes, five women and six men, who were protagonists.

Proof of this was the harvest of medals that they achieved with a total of nine medals.

Santander won three gold medals. Angelina Palacio Romero, in the Cadets category, in the 70 kilograms.

The one who also ‘bathed’ in gold was Gueyler Andrea Colmenares, but she did so in the Junior category, at 78 kilograms.

The last gold, in Junior, at 70 kilos, went to Esteysi Díaz.

Kéiner Sánchez, in the 66 kilos Cadets, and Angelina Palacio, in the 78 Juniors, each won a silver medal and increased the count of the Santander delegation.

In addition, the team won four bronze medals. María Mora, in the 48 kilograms Junior, Kéiner Sánchez, in the 66 Junior, and Luna Jaimes, who achieved two medals of this metal, one in Cadets and another in Junior, were the winners.

Thanks to the results obtained, Angelina Palacio, Gueyler Andrea Colmenares and Esteysi Díaz, winners of gold medals, managed to qualify for the Pan American and South American Championships of the discipline that will be held, also in Cali, between next August 13 and 15 . Palacio and Díaz also won the ticket to the first Pan American Youth Games, to be held in November, in Cali.

In addition, all the medalists will compete in the South American Championship.
