Rowing is the only debut sport for RD in Tokyo

The Dominican delegation is made up of 66 athletes, a record attendance for the next Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (July 23 / August 8) by the nation of Querétaro.

Of that group, 42 are men and 24 women, distributed among 10 sports, of which two are team disciplines, baseball and volleyball, which also helps to increase the number of athletes.

The delegation reaches one hundred.

The head of mission is Gerardo Suero Correa, a former 100 and 200 meter athlete at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

The standard bearers are Prisilla Rivera (volleyball) and Rodrigo Marte (boxing).

Special features

Of the 10 sports, the only one that buta is rowing with Ignacio Vásquez, since the country has already been represented in the remaining nine, athletics, boxing, baseball, equestrian, judo, swimming both smooth and in its modality of dives, weights, taekwondo and women’s volleyball.

Another peculiarity is that of the 66 participating athletes 15 athletes repeat in an Olympics, six of them are volleyball.

The repeating athletes are from athletics: Yancarlos Martínez, Luguelin Santos, Ana Timá. Boxing: Leonel de los Santos. Equestrian: Yvonne Losos de Muñiz. Taekwondo: Moisés Hernández and Katherine Rodríguez. Weights: Beatriz Pirón and Luis García and volleyball players: Prisilla Rivera, Annerys Valdez, Lisvel Eve Mejía, Brenda Castillo, Niverka Marte and Bethania de la Cruz.
