Philippe Clement makes no secret of the fact that Club Brugge is not yet done with its homework on the transfer market. The national champion is still looking for incoming reinforcements.

Sobol and Lang’s options were exercised, but otherwise there was still no wind. Clement does not want to go into details and rumours, but also does not mince words: reinforcements must be added.

“The management and I are on the same page,” assures the coach. “We consult a lot with the scouts about different profiles that could strengthen us. The board is working hard.”

”Which profiles do I still need? I’d rather not talk about that publicly. Everyone knows that we are still looking for players on the flanks,” said Clement.

Supercup

The Supercup will soon be played against Genk. Clement does not want to minimize that price. “I like to win prizes,” he assures. “Obviously, the Supercup never had the prestige of a title or cup, but winning a prize is always nice. The Supercup is a duel between the two best teams of last season, especially now.”

De opties van Sobol en Lang werden gelicht, maar voor het overige bleef het nog windstil. Clement wil niet ingaan op details en geruchten, maar windt er ook geen doekjes om: er moet versterking bijkomen.

“Het management en ik zitten op dezelfde lijn”, verzekert de coach. “We overleggen veel met de scouts over verschillende profielen die ons zouden kunnen versterken. Het bestuur is hard aan het werk.”

”Welke profielen ik nog nodig heb? Daar praat ik liever niet publiekelijk over. Al weet iedereen dat we op de flanken nog spelers zoeken”, aldus nog Clement.

Supercup

Straks wordt de Supercup gespeeld tegen Genk. Die prijs wil Clement niet minimaliseren. “Ik win graag prijzen”, verzekert hij. “De Supercup had uiteraard nooit de prestige van een titel of beker, maar een prijs winnen is altijd leuk. De Supercup is een duel tussen de twee beste ploegen van vorig seizoen, zeker nu.”
