Ormaechea’s emotion: he is a quarter-finalist in Budapest

Argentina’s Paula Ormaechea qualified for the quarterfinals of the Budapest Tournament, which is played on brick dust, defeating Serbian Ivana Jorovic 6-1, 7-6 (6) in just over 2 hours of the game.

After clearly dominating the first round, the game entered a phase of equality that Ormaechea had to finish off in a crazy tiebreaker, in which started losing by 0-4 and 2-5 and ended up winning by 8-6.

The last time he had won two straight main draw matches was at the 2014 WTA in Rio de Janeiro and, in this way, he is assured of returning to the qualifying phase of a Grand Slam at the US Open.

In the quarterfinals, Ormaechea, who comes from the qualifying phase and is the 255th in the WTA world rankings, will face the winner of the match between the Hungarian Reka Luca Jani and the American Danielle Collins, second favorite of the tournament .
