Despite “the supervision of the wage bill and transfer allowances” decided by the DNCG, Olympique de Marseille remains very active on the transfer market, as evidenced by the signatures of Leonardo Balerdi and Cengiz nder this weekend as well than the other arrivals expected in the coming days (see here). Indeed, this measure does not worry the Marseille management too much, explains La Provence.

In summary, the Marseille club has an envelope predefined by the DNCG to recruit and offer salaries up to a certain ceiling. The amount is not known but it “leaves a certain flexibility” to Marseille leaders, explains a member of the club in the regional daily. And if OM are relatively calm, it is because the management had anticipated this scenario and planned its transfer window taking this constraint into account.

To significantly strengthen the workforce without straining the club’s finances, President Pablo Longoria had in fact planned to complete several loans with option to buy this summer. It is therefore with a certain serenity that the Olympian leader continues his transfer window by juggling the constraints linked to the decision of the financial policeman of French football.
