OM wants to prosecute Orange international Quincy Promes

The Public Prosecution Service in Amsterdam wants to prosecute Orange footballer Quincy Promes for involvement in a stabbing in Abcoude last year. The footballer is said to have stabbed his cousin in the knee.

There is no final charge yet against the 29-year-old Promes, who plays in Russia. His lawyer, Gerard Spong, may still formulate research wishes, says a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service. “There may be investigations that may be important to the case. Only when those investigations have been completed will a final decision to prosecute follow.” Then comes the indictment.

Promes’ cousin filed a report in November, a few months after the stabbing incident. A month later, the then Ajax player Promes was arrested. He was in jail for several days. He denies and has previously informed through his lawyer that he was not on site. The suspected victim suffered serious injuries.
