This Wednesday the fifth day of these Olympic Games takes place in which Spain has so far three medals: Adriana Cerezo’s silver in karate, David Valero’s bronze in cross and Maialen Chourraut’s silver in kayak. The day begins with the target shooting test in which Fátima Gálvez and Alberto Fernández participate, and ends with the last match of the group stage between the men’s soccer team and Argentina at 1:00 p.m.

  • CYCLING. Starting at 07.00, the end of the men’s individual time trial with Jon Izagirre.
  • SAIL. Starting at 05.05. With Nicolás Rodríguez and Jordi Xammar, Patricia Cantero and Silvia Mas in 470; Blanca Manchón and Ángel Granda on RS: X windsurfing; Joan Cardona in Finn, Tamara Echegoyen and Paula Cardona, Iago López and Diego Botín in 49er.
  • CANOEING. Starting at 05.50, Nuria Vilarrubla in slalom. Starting at 09.00, David Llorente.
  • SWIMMING. Starting at 12.10. Series of 100m styles with Lidón Muñoz del Campo, 200m backstroke with Nicolas García and 200m breaststroke with Jessica Vall and Marina García; 200m individual medley with Hugo González.
  • ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS. At 12.15. Male final.
  • MEN’S HANDBALL. At 12.30. Preliminary round. Spain – Brazil.
  • HALTEROPHILIA. At 12.50 men’s final of -73kg with David Sánchez.
  • MEN’S FOOTBALL. At 1:00 p.m. Spain – Argentina.

Results:

  • CYCLING. Van Vleuten won gold in the time trial and Margarita García finished 23rd.
  • TENNIS. Carreño has beaten Koepfer (7-6, 6-3) and goes to the quarterfinals.
