Olimpia Milano, now it’s official: here is Gianmarco Pozzecco

Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano has appointed Gianmarco Pozzecco as assistant coach of the first team, completing the technical staff which, under the orders of Head Coach Ettore Messina, still includes Mario Fioretti, Stefano Bizzozero and Marco Esposito.

“The opportunity to work alongside Ettore Messina represents a unique opportunity, the best that could happen to me right now, even in a different role than the one I had last season – says Gianmarco Pozzecco -. I face this experience with great enthusiasm, humility and a sense of responsibility. My task will be the same as the other assistants, that is to create the ideal conditions to allow the Head Coach to make the best decisions for the team ”.

Gianmarco Pozzecco was born in Gorizia on September 15, 1972. As a player, he played in Udine, Livorno, Varese, Fortitudo Bologna, Zaragoza, Khimki Mosca, Capo d’Orlando. He won the 1999 championship in Varese. In the national team, he won the silver medal at the 2004 Olympics. As a coach, he coached in Capo d’Orlando, Varese, at Cedevita Zagreb (as Veljko Mrsic’s assistant), Fortitudo (in A2) and Sassari where he won the FIBA Europe Cup 2019 and the 2019 Super Cup, as well as reaching the 2019 Scudetto final.
