Josh Gordon requests his official reinstatement to the NFL
This Friday, wide receiver and free agent Josh Gordon officially sent a reinstatement letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. With this, Gordon hopes to find a team before the training camps start at the end of this month.
The NFL has put Gordon through random tests for the past three months, and they have approved all of them. Still, it’s worth noting that the league suspended Gordon indefinitely in December 2019 for violations of its substance abuse and performance-enhancing policies. This was Gordon’s sixth suspension since the 2013 season and his fifth for any form of substance abuse.
Gordon was conditionally reinstated by the NFL in December 2020 and was scheduled to practice in the final two weeks of the regular season with the Seahawks, before the league banned him last January.
The Seahawks released Gordon on March 4 to later play in the experimental league. Fan Controlled Football with Johnny Manziel on the Zappers team. Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards in 2013, but in seven seasons since then, he has played just 33 regular-season games and missed 79 due to a series of lengthy suspensions.

Kenny Golladay, at risk of arrest for contempt of court
Giants WR Kenny Golladay ignored a subpoena last December and did not show up for a virtual deposition, Ryan Dunleavy reported from the New York Post. Thus, Golladay is at risk of being held for contempt of court later this month.
Golladay is part of a civil case involving his former NFL agent, Jason Bernstein, according to the report. Bernstein is suing the souvenir company Redland Sports y MVP Authentics for allegedly violating an exclusive rights contract for an autograph signing in 2019.
The Giants’ WR has until July 22 to explain in writing why it failed to comply with a subpoena in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, according to a petition filed by Clarity Sports International Bernstein and awarded by a judge. The court record indicates that Golladay has not responded to inquiries since a motion was filed on Friday, May 14.
Golladay signed a four-year, $ 72 million deal with the Giants during free agency in March that included a guaranteed $ 40 million. In addition, it is called to be the fundamental pillar of the New York offense. Will this summons influence the start of your 2021 campaign?

Everson Griffen wants to return to Minnesota
After having played ten seasons with the Vikings, defensive end Everson Griffin left the team in 2020 for Dallas and later Detroit, however, he admits that leaving Minnesota was a mistake and that he would like to go back anyway.
Griffen recently texted Paul Allen from KFAN to confirm his desire to re-sign with Minnesota: “I should never have left the Vikings,” Griffen told Allen. “I ruined it. What I tweeted was wrong. The Vikings organization took great care of me during my ups and downs and I disrespected a lot of people. “
What Griffen tweeted at the time was: “Kirk Cousins is an idiot” and “ask him [al head coach] to ZIMMER if he wanted Kirk ”, and although the tweets were removed, it is very possible that the damage was done.
Allen also noted, “He has people on his side with the Minnesota Vikings and I wouldn’t rule out Everson Griffen joining the Vikings before the season.” This would add an undeniable talent to a pass rush that last season suffered too much with his departure and Danielle Hunter’s neck injury. Currently the USC graduate is a free agent, will we see him back in Minnesota in 2021?

No trace of opt-outs by 2021
The deadline to opt out of the 2021 NFL Season was last Friday, July 2 and although there is no trace that any player has decided to do so opt-out, this will only be confirmed next Tuesday.
According to the NFL itself, personnel notices will not be sent to teams until July 6. This means that if any player chose not to participate, there will be no official announcement until Tuesday and unless a player announces it or the information is leaked, nothing can be confirmed yet.
It should be remembered that due to COVID-19, in 2020 the NFL had 67 players who chose not to participate in the season, however, with vaccines already available, it would be surprising if someone chose not to play this next season. Another influencing factor is that, unlike last year, those players who voluntarily choose not to participate in 2021 will not receive any salary (in 2020, all opt-out received a salary of $ 150,000).

Vernon Davis wants to be recognized as an actor, not a player
In more NFL news, former tight end Vernon Davis doesn’t want to be known as a football player. He wants to be recognized as his acting role. Through John Keim of ESPNDavis recently explained that he hopes his acting career will eventually make people forget he played football:
“Over time, I’ll probably appear in so many projects that people will get used to seeing me as an actor and forget about me as a player,” Davis told Keim on a recent podcast. “I think about seeing Terry Crews and The Rock and you see them and you don’t think of them as athletes, because you see them in so many different projects. That will probably happen to me. “
However, that will not be easy. Davis spent 14 seasons in the NFL and retired in 2019, although as an actor he has already acted in five films and another three will begin shooting soon: “I would love to do some of the same things that [The] Rock is doing it, ”Davis said. “I like his work ethic. I know what I am doing and where I want to be. I can see”.
From 2022 we will be able to see Davis in films like Red Winter, A Message from Brianna Y The Chariot. The Maryland graduate was selected to two Pro Bowls and was a Super Bowl 50 champion with the Broncos.
