Mourinho to Roma Fans: You guys are amazing!

Jose Mourinho is now the coach of AS Roma. The Portuguese tactician admitted that he was very impressed with the Giallorossi fans.

Mourinho has returned to Italy since leaving Inter Milan in 2010. The Special One arrived at the Olimpico after agreeing to Roma’s proposal to replace Paulo Fonseca.

Roma’s performance has not been consistent enough in the last few seasons. After consistently finishing in the top three for five consecutive seasons, the Capital Wolves slumped to sixth in the 2018/19 Italian League, then fifth the following season, and fell to seventh in 2020/21.

Jose Mourinho had a very lively welcome when he first arrived at AS Roma. Like a superstar, Mourinho was awaited by hundreds of supporters at the club headquarters.

The 58-year-old coach spoke to La Lupa’s official YouTube channel. There Mourinho answered several questions from the Roma fans and underlined the incredible support.

“Roma fans are my type, they are great. The Olimpico is fantastic and this city has history, strength and passion,” said Mourinho.

Mourinho is a man born in Setubal. A city in western Portugal with a population of more than 120 thousand inhabitants.

“Setubal? Home is the only word to describe it. I am a citizen of the world, but Setubal is home,” he stressed.

Roma have had five pre-season games under Mourinho. Edin Dzeko et al won four wins and a draw against Porto.

Roma will again undergo a test match, this time against Sevilla. The duel took place at the Algarve Stadium, Portugal, Saturday (31/7/2021) night WIB.
