MLB – Vaccinated MLB professional Yelich tested positive: “Doesn’t give 100 percent security”

Washington (SID) – Milwaukee Brewers baseball pro Christian Yelich contracted the coronavirus – despite receiving the vaccine from Johnson & Johnson in April. The club from the US professional league MLB announced that Yelich had developed mild symptoms and immediately informed the officials.

To be on the safe side, his teammate Jace Peterson was put on the MLB’s corona list, which he can leave after seven days at the earliest. The other Brewers players, however, were tested negative several times. The 29-year-old Yelich now has to take a break of at least ten days and be without symptoms.

“He’s in good spirits and recovering. We’re doing everything we can to keep our group healthy and safe,” said Brewers President David Stearns: “But as with everything right now, there is no such thing as 100 percent safety.”

The approved vaccines from various manufacturers have a high probability of protecting against a severe course of COVID-19, but infection cannot be completely ruled out.
