Mario Golf Super Rush has Star and Superstar characters, with better statistics than normal thanks to sets of clubs: here we explain how to unlock them quickly.
The roster of characters from Mario Golf Super Rush, for Nintendo Switch, currently includes 16 characters. We say for now because Nintendo already announced that the game will receive free DLC In the coming months, add new fields and characters.
Each character in the Mushroom Kingdom has their own stats and two special moves that they can use in Quick Golf mode. Unlike Mii, who level up in Adventure Mode like an RPG, you won’t be able to level up characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, or Bowser, and their stats will stay the same. However, if you play a lot with them you can unlock two batches of clubs.

Every time you use a character you will get character points. When you exceed a certain number, the character will unlock the Star and Superstar suit bundles, with improved characteristics over the basic suits.
- Star clubs: 1,000 points
- Superstar clubs: 3,000 points
How to get character points
Every time you use a character in Normal Golf, Quick Golf and Golf Battle modes (Mii and Adventure mode do not count, only Mario world characters) you will earn points from that character. It’s the way the game has motivate you to use different characters, to progress with them little by little, instead of staying with just one.
Of course, the better you do, the more character points you will get. These actions will award extra points at the end of the game:
- Hole in one: 100 points
- Albatross: 50 points
- Eagle: 20 points
- Birdie: 10 puntos
- Catch a coin (fast golf): 3 points
Replaying short courses many times, where it is possible to get a hole in one, can be a good strategy to score a lot of points.
However, the most infallible, albeit repetitive, method is to “grind” points restarting the game over and over. Enter the normal Golf mode, choose multiplayer mode for four players (you can use a single controller in this mode), choose the four characters you want to grind, and as soon as the game begins, press Start and hit Restart from the first hole.
Every time the characters start a game, even if they don’t finish it, they will get 10 points, so you can repeat this method as many times as you want to quickly grind characters you may not feel like playing with …
