Luka Doncic could get some major help from this Brooklyn Nets star

Luka Doncic and the Mavericks almost had an incredible run in the playoffs with their streak against the Clippers. Taking a 2-0 lead in the very first round, Doncic and Co. looked invincible.

But the losses in Games 3 and 4 certainly showed the team’s flaws. With people like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Co. not connecting their shots and Doncic seemingly tired, the Mavericks seemed distraught.

Even their third victory was a Luka masterclass. But for lack of quality backup playmakers, the Mavs depended heavily on Luka to create for his teammates. This limited the team and ultimately with an underperforming supporting cast, Doncic had a lot going on and Dallas ultimately crashed.

Luka Doncic and Mavericks interested in Spencer Dinwiddie

The Mavericks have some serious issues to work out in their roster. Whether it is their underperforming star at Kristaps Porzingis, or their lack of depth, this offseason will be decisive for the organization.

While Trey Burke has shown flashes of consistency in the regular season, the Mavericks may have a better backup playmaker. One of the biggest names available in free agency is Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie, who missed most of last season with injury, has been a regular contributor for the Nets in recent years. Whether it’s his score or his game, the Nets goalie can do it all.

The 28-year-old can also be a substitute or a starting point guard for the team. He might not solve all of the Mavericks’ problems, but the Nets goalie will certainly be a great addition to the team’s rotation.

Considering the seasons he has had, the 28-year-old is certainly looking for a big paycheck. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Dinwiddie mentioned that he would accept an annual salary of around $ 25 million per year.

But the biggest concern here is that Dinwiddie hasn’t played for almost a year. Considering how difficult an ACL injury is and how it has injured other players in the past, the 28-year-old’s stock may not be that high. Will the Mavericks sign custody for the Nets or will they look for bigger names in this free agency?
