Liverpool don’t even want Schalke’s Ozan Kabak at a bargain price

Liverpool FC has, according to information from SPOX and Goal knocked out the opportunity to sign Ozan Kabak from FC Schalke 04 for ten million euros.

Schalke approached the Reds, because the financially troubled Bundesliga relegated team wants to collect transfer fees and at the same time get players off the payroll. Liverpool, however, turned down the offer.

Kabak was loaned to Liverpool by the Royal Blues on the last day of the winter transfer window. For this deal, Schalke collected around 1.5 million euros and agreed a fixed transfer fee of 20 million euros with the Klopp club if they want to sign the Turkish international. Meanwhile, S04 is ready to get involved in a deal for less than half that amount.

Liverpool, however, no longer have the need to bring on another defender. With Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate, a new man has been signed for the defensive center. In addition, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are available again after recovering from injuries.

Kabak made a total of 13 appearances for Liverpool in the second half of the season and mostly formed a solid duo in central defense with Nat Phillips. He missed the last five league games due to an injury.
