After spending the last months in uncertainty, finally Lion can presume that he has his own house, this after the confirmation purchase of the León Stadium by Pachuca Group through the Sociedad Fiera Capital.

It’s a statement, Pachuca Group described the operation as’ a strategic decision in the future of the Club Leon and the institution it represents’. They mentioned that the acquisition ‘avoids the risks that could arise if the Stadium had other owners, and guarantees that the team will never leave town‘.

As if that were not enough, they also confirmed that the project of a new stadium for La Fiera continues, pointing out that the current owners of boxes and stalls in what was formerly known as New Camp they will be offered a special price for when it’s built.

“The acquisition of Leon Stadium will allow the Club to face the project of the New Leon Stadium, knowing that the team today has a house of his own to play in, share and compete for the duration of the construction of their new headquarters, “they added.

Who was the owner of the León Stadium?

The site was owned by the Leonese businessman Roberto Zermeño, who last year fought a battle with the Club Leon, even forcing La Fiera to play a match at home in the Victoria Stadium from Aguascalientes after workers of Pachuca Group were evicted.

We thank the engineer Roberto Zermeño its openness and facilities, trusting us and ensuring that the Club Leon stay here. “
