Le Matin – Tennis: six Moroccan tennis players temporarily suspended

Six Moroccan tennis players suspected by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) of being involved in match-fixing are
provisionally suspended this Friday by Independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer (AHO) Charles Hollander QC, pending an investigation into allegations of match-fixing, the agency said in a statement posted on its website . The players are: Amine Ahouda, Anas Chakrouni, Ayoub Chakrouni, Mohamed Zakaria Khalil, Soufiane El Mesbahi and Yassir Kilani.

These players are now banned from participating in or attending tennis events, with immediate effect, while charges are being investigated against them for alleged violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP). The provisional suspension was pronounced under Article F.3 of the TACP 2021 which states: “The ITIA may at any time submit a request to an AHO for a provisional suspension of a covered person, including before a notice of major infraction has been issued, before a hearing or at any time after a hearing but before the OHA issues a written decision. Provisional suspensions (and challenges and reviews thereof under this Section F.3) should normally be determined on the basis of written submissions, unless the AHO considers that an oral hearing is necessary ” . The International Tennis Integrity Agency is an independent body established by international tennis governing bodies to promote, encourage, improve and protect the integrity of professional tennis worldwide.
