Khabib Assumes McGregor Broken MMA

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Former lightweight champion UFC, Khabib Nurmagomedov, consider behavior Conor McGregor spoil the image of the sport mixed martial arts (MMA).

According to him, McGregor has taken various actions outside the octagon that tarnish the good name of the kombat sport.

“Money and popularity shows who you really are. We often hear money and popularity change people. No. When there is money and popularity, these two things show who you are,” said Khabib.

“And what has been [McGregor] do? He punched the old man [di sebuah bar pada 2019]. You can look at everything he does and understand if Dustin says, ‘this guy is trash’.”

Khabib is amazed at the people who are still cheering McGregor up and back after breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

“I saw a lot of people tweeting trying to support him. How can you support this guy? When kids, the younger generation see it, see this sport? If you want to promote fighting, promote it.”

“If the MMA community supports people like this, the sport is going down a bad path,” Khabib said.

The figure who has the nickname The Eagles also thinks McGregor will not be able to compete with top fighters after suffering a broken leg.

McGregor, who still has ambitions to become the UFC lightweight world champion, has now had to use crutches for six weeks and make a relatively long recovery to restore the ability of his broken left leg.
