José Carlos Muñoz, Junior’s fifth reinforcement

After the fall of Jeison Guzmán, Junior already found his steering wheel ’10’. The rojiblanco team has had to test José Carlos Muñoz, a player born in Bogotá but raised in Valledupar, 27 years old, who manages the right-handed profile.

The creative, who played in 2020 at the Ecuadorian University Technician – was directed there by the former Junior Technician José Eugenio Cheche Hernández – and who has been practicing with the ‘Tiburon’ team this preseason, was able to meet the expectations of the coach Luis Amaranto Perea and his work team, so this Thursday he signed a six-month contract with the nine-time Colombian soccer champion institution.

The footballer was part of one of the two friendly matches played by the ‘currambero’ team against Barranquilla FC yesterday, being able to score one of the goals in the substitute team’s 3-0 victory.

Muñoz was already under the command of Amaranto Perea in Leones de Itagüí, in 2019, a campaign in which the Antioquia team lost the category. In 2020 he played 14 games, distributed in 652 minutes in Ecuadorian football, scoring a goal.

The creative debuted at Valledupar FC in 2012. He has played in Unión Magdalena, Boyacá Chicó, Cortuluá and Leones. In total he has played 214 commitments and has converted 31 professional goals.

José Carlos Muñoz thus becomes Junior’s fifth reinforcement for this second semester of the year. He joins Walmer Pacheco, Juan Sebastián Herrera, Cristian Martínez Borja and the return, after his loan to Huila, of Johan Bocanegra.
