The outcome remains unclear and it will be necessary to see if sanctions, such as a suspension, will be imposed on the athlete concerned.

“I want to apologize for the regrettable comments I made on Sunday about the LGBTQ + community,” he wrote on his Twitter account. It was a bad decision on my part and I take full responsibility for it. I am truly sorry for the pain this has caused and I will learn by educating myself better. ”

“The Club reminds us that we do not tolerate any form of discrimination or prejudice, and that, like our city, we are open,” CF Montreal said on Twitter. We accept his apologies, but he will have to undergo an awareness and education program on sexual diversity and homophobia. We are proud of the great cultural and social diversity that makes us up as a Club. It is a unique wealth that sometimes involves certain integration and education challenges, but it is our duty to meet them. ”

Kizza has played eight games so far, but was not used in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Inter Miami CF. His team will face New York City FC on Wednesday in Orlando.
