“He ignored me”: Donnarumma reveals the words he addressed to Lukaku before his penalty

The cameras did not fail to film the scene which took place during the quarter-finals of the Euro in Munich on Friday, when Romelu Lukaku was about to take his penalty, while the Red Devils were down 0-2 by the Italians. Approaching Big Rom, Squadra Azzurra goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma spoke a few words in the ear of the Belgian, before resuming his place in the net.

After putting the ball in the net a few seconds after that, Romelu Lukaku then turned to the Italian, his finger on his lips, as if he wanted to silence him. A gesture that was somewhat controversial on social networks, but that Donnarumma explained to Sky Sports this weekend. “I wanted to tell Lukaku that there was no penalty. But he ignored me,” said the Italy goalkeeper, “I was not at all afraid. I am not afraid of anyone.” . He also specified that he had “only respect for Lukaku”.
