Golf elevates Lucas Glover again 10 years later

Five birdies in the last seven holes rescued Lucas Glover’s name for the PGA Tour, who had not recorded his name on any trophy since May 2011. He did so at the John Deere Classic, a tournament with no-shows due to the nearby US Open, but with a huge court of suitors in the best circuit in the world.

Glover, winner of the US Open 2009, followed in the wake of the Resurrection Year on the American Tour, with seven players returning to win at least seven seasons later. Cink (2009), Gay (2013), Laird (2013), Strebb (2014), English (2013), and Matt Jones (2014) are the others. “There are moments that seem like yesterday and others that seem like 20 years have passed,” said the winner in Detroit. Was imposed for two strokes. It is the fourth title he has won in this circuit

Greenville golfer, 41, signed the best card of a Sunday in which neither the Colombian Sebastin Muoz nor the Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello. Some unfortunate first nine holes of Muoz mortgaged their chances of victory after having started as leader on the final day. He covered them in three over par, with four bogeys, and the rest of the day he only had time to make up the lap with the par from the field.

The canary, meanwhile, starred in the same sequence, signed 70 shots, with four birdies and three bogeys, and finished in twenty-third place. He barely climbs four positions in the Fedex Cup (he is 164) and he will have to keep fighting to get the PGA Tour card. The Royal St. George this week is a good square.

The PGA Tour can be followed on channel 57 of Movistar.
