Giroud expected to sign AC Milan

In the coming hours, Olivier Giroud, the Chelsea striker, should commit to AC Milan and sign a two-year contract, according to information from the Parisian.

Olivier Giroud should discover Serie A in the jersey of AC Milan. On June 4, Chelsea formalized the extension of the center-forward’s contract until 2022. This lifting of a contract extension option for the former Arsenal player was decided last April. But now, extension does not always mean stability. This Friday, Le Parisien says striker should commit to AC Milan by signing two-year contract for a transfer estimated at 2 million euros, due to the player’s remaining contract year.

A third championship for Giroud?

“It is imminent. There is no official confirmation yet, but it should not be long now.”, explained a close to the Italian board to the Parisian. The medical examination could take place on Monday July 12. Established 8 times in the Premier League last season by Thomas Tuchel, Giroud would therefore discover a third championship nine years after leaving Ligue 1 and Montpellier to join England, under the shirts of Arsenal (2012-2018) and Chelsea. Winner of the Champions League with the Blues this season and his team’s top scorer with 6 goals in 8 games, Giroud had to be content with a substitute role for most of the season. On the side of Milan, if the signing were to be confirmed, he could evolve alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
