Euro 2020, here is the stop of Uefa on Ukraine-England: tickets for UK residents are void

48 hours before the quarter-final of the European Championship between England and Ukraine at the Olympic stadium in Rome, Uefa has decided to block the sale and transferability of tickets by 21 today and has ordered “the cancellation of coupons sold to UK residents starting June 28 at 00.00. ‘ UEFA’s decision was taken on a proposal from the Department of Public Security to limit the risks associated with the Covid pandemic and the spread of the Delta variant. The note issued by the Department states that with “reference to the current regulatory regime regarding those who have stayed or transited in the United Kingdom in the last fourteen days, a particular ticketing policy has been established which provides for the mandatory block on the sale and transferability of tickets by 9 pm today and the cancellation of the coupons sold to UK residents starting at 00 am on June 28th ».

For English fans, and for all people arriving from the United Kingdom, the Italian government has ordered a mandatory five-day quarantine from 18 June. A measure that makes it impossible for the English fans to travel to Italy to follow England. But the Italian government fears that supporters of the English national team may circumvent the restrictions. It was the same English newspaper Daily Mail to publish a set of guidelines for fans to circumvent the isolation requirement. For this reason, vigilance has also been increased at Fiumicino airport in view of the approaching match on Saturday. In these hours the attention of the Border Police of the Roman airport is focused on scheduled flights arriving from the United Kingdom with passengers called, immediately after disembarking, to undergo anti-Covid tests and to fill out a specific questionnaire from the Ministry of Health before crossing the border. Already yesterday, the British government had asked fans not to travel abroad and to cheer for their national team from home.
