Despite a more than disappointing Euro for the France team, Noël Le Graët renewed his confidence in Didier Deschamps and his staff. A question “settled in three minutes”, explained the president of the French Football Federation, in an interview published Thursday in the press.

He remains the boss of the Blues. The coach Didier Deschamps has, unsurprisingly, been kept at the head of the France team despite elimination in the round of 16 at the Euro and “there was no debate,” said Thursday 8 July, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graët.

“The question was settled in three minutes. His will is very strong to continue, mine was too”, developed the boss of the FFF in an interview with the daily Le Figaro, published the day after a long interview between the coach and boss of French football, in his stronghold of Guingamp.

Arrived at the head of the Blues in 2012, Didier Deschamps increased the selection in power, from a quarter-final at the 2014 World Cup to the coronation of the 2018 World Cup, through the lost final of Euro-2016. The early elimination in the round of 16 of Euro-2020, postponed for a year, against Switzerland (3-3, 5-4 tab), was the first failure of his mandate.

The former coach of Juventus Turin, Marseille and Monaco, 52, is under contract until the end of 2022, after the World Cup in Qatar which will take place in November and December.

Noël Le Graët also confirmed that the staff close to Didier Deschamps would remain unchanged, with his assistant Guy Stéphan, physical trainer Cyril Moine, doctor Franck Le Gall and goalkeeper coach Franck Raviot.
